A beauty and tanning salon is basking in the glory of receiving one of the top accolades in the beauty industry for the sixth time.
Helius Professional Tanning and Beauty, in Station Parade, Virginia Water, scooped the 2009 Crown Salon status at the 10th annual Guinot Crown Salon Awards, held in London last week.
French skincare manufacturer, Guinot, has 1,600 salons and spas across the UK and Ireland but only 52 met the stringent criteria of exceptionally high customer service and skincare treatment levels to qualify for the awards.
An elderly driver died of multiple injuries after pulling out from a junction into the path of an oncoming van in Virginia Water, an inquest heard this morning (November 4).
Joseph Harrison, 81, of Harpesford Avenue, Virginia Water, was waiting in Lyne Lane at the junction with Lyne Crossing Road when he pulled out "all of a sudden" into the road at 8.40am on May 23, witness Richard Cross told Woking Coroner's Court.
Mr Cross said he was driving towards the junction Mr Harrison was exiting, intending to turn right, when he saw Mr Harrison pull out, turning right into Lyne Crossing Road, and the Volkswagen van crashed into his passenger door, pushing it along the road and on to the grass verge.
